CV & cover letter
Your professional CV is the first presentation of yourself seen by the recruiter. Based on that companies often make a decision whether to invite you to join the recruitment process or not. Therefore we suggest you to pay attention to its content and form.
Nowadays a structured CV is preferred, because it enables the recruiter to find important information about you quickly.
Remember to include:
- Personal details and contact information – such as name, surname, telephone number, e-mail address.
- Education – information about your studies, including your major focus, in chronological order, starting with the highest one. Do not forget to include relevant courses attended and certificates obtained.
- Employment history – starting from the most recent one, write the name and focus of the company you worked for, period, title of your position and description of your duties and responsibilities. The more details you provide in this part of your CV, the better understanding of your experience the recruiter gets.
- Language skills – mention languages you speak and describe on which level. Should you have any certificates confirming your language skills, do not hesitate to mention them.
- Other skills – PC skills, driving licence etc.
- Other information you find important – references, voluntary jobs etc.
A CV is often accompanied by a cover letter. There you should mention which position are you applying for and why do you feel yourself to be a good match for the job. Do not hesitate to put more details about the particular part of your employment history, education or skills that is relevant to the job – to help the potential employers to see you as a suitable member of their staff.
